A classic blend comprising 65% Sangiovese and 35% Cabernet. Ripe, spicy, meaty, earthy and powerful. The Cabernet wraps itself gently around the cherry mid-palate of the Sangiovese, traditional in style with enduring spicy flavours, a lively acid structure and mouth coating tannins suggesting that it will only get better with time – but get stuck in now!
A pure and classic Sangiovese made in the new world. This wine has a great depth of colour and a wonderful complex palate structure. Beginning with upfront, juicy maraschino cherry fruit, it has a long line of fine acidity and tannin that lingers. Savoury yet sweet, the finish of spice and fruit is balanced and enhanced with a toasty hint from new oak. This wine will improve with age – decant one now and put a dozen in the cellar.
Fresh aromas of plum, blackberry & cassis are complemented by hints of tobacco leaf, cedar and vanilla – the palate is rich yet beautifully balanced with great length of flavour and soft structural tannin. This wine is a regional classic that will cellar well for many years.
